Suntory Special Reserve is a rather simple whiskey, but a very enjoyable one at the same time.

As such, this history is well worth exploring at some point, whether it's in a novelty container or not.
Nose: Dried fruits, especially plums, dates, apricots and berries. There's a lot more sherry here than the Royal. There is also a hint of orange. Thicc and aromatic, it's actually pretty good. There is also Yamazaki here.
Taste: The nose is slightly better, but the orange flavor is still there, with some added white pepper and some bitter chocolate. Sugary and oaky, the overall balance is excellent. There's not much to it here. Light and easy to drink.
Finish: Medium length, persistent fruit and a bit of oak bitterness.
