In 1918, Masataka Taketsuru, the head of the Japanese brewery in Hiroshima, went to Scotland to learn how to brew whiskey. Because the method of brewing whiskey was a secret in Scotland at the time, Masataka Taketsuru learned the method of brewing whiskey through hard work. His wife, Jessie Roberta Cowan (nicknamed Rita, Rita), returned to China. In 1934, he chose Yoichi, Hokkaido, which had favorable weather conditions for making whiskey, and established a distillery as the location of Japan's first whiskey factory.

The first distillery founded by Masataka Taketsuru in Nikka in 1934, owns Hokkaido, which has similar environmental conditions to Scotland, where he can make full use of professional whiskey.

Yoichi Distillery located in Hokkaido has won many awards.

Fruity and malty, the sweet and smoky oak is perfectly preserved
