金裝茅台王子酒入口比普通王子酒更柔順，普通王子酒最開始入口的時候能感覺到酸味，醬味突出，微帶窖底香，口感有一絲快速發酵的醇苦之感，中段酒體有一絲微甜感，中後段收口，尾味乾淨，風味差點飽滿，收口太快。很多酒友會覺得普王苦味太重，但這也是碎沙酒的特點，即快速發酵的醇苦之感。

金王子入口微甜帶酸，而後苦味突顯，這款酒醬味比普通王子酒濃郁，從入口到喝下去風味層次的變化也比普王平衡飽滿一些。
