The sixth and final release in the Macallan Edition series, Edition 6 is inspired by the legendary River Spey and the natural wonders of The Macallan estate, where Macallan casks are handpicked before maturing Supplied by our specialist whiskey makers.

Macallan whiskey maker Steven Bremner handpicked all five different cask types used to create the 6th edition. He draws inspiration from unique stories related to the river and the surrounding landscape. American and European oak barrels were chosen to create a flavor profile that brings a multifaceted experience. From the attractive rich brassy natural color to the aroma, combined with a deep and evocative flavour.

The legendary River Spey flows through the estate and is world famous for its mighty Atlantic salmon. Macallan Ghillie is the custodian of the River Spey and advocates for the maintenance of wildlife in and around Hanoi. On our three-quarter-mile-long river, lucky folks can test their skills with Hardy's unparalleled tackle in hopes of catching and releasing wild Atlantic salmon.

Wild Atlantic salmon are in danger of becoming an endangered species. The Macallan has therefore partnered with the Atlantic Salmon Trust to help raise awareness and support important conservation work in the River Spey and beyond.
