Big and rich, with an almost velvety texture, this is a powerful wine. It has spices, black berries, layers of wood and black plum rind. Powerful wines with long-term aging and medium-term accessibility.

This is 2008, with a soft texture but also an inherent bright acidity. Medium to full-bodied, with firm and chewy tannins and a fresh palate. Very pretty and vibrant.

The 2008 Rauzan-Ségla is a solid vintage, relatively young but sure to drink well. A blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Merlot, it has cool, black fruit, menthol and tobacco aromas, is medium to full-bodied and still has tannins, considerable elegance and excellent length. Overall, it was a well-balanced 2008 and will continue to develop for another 15-20 years.

Soft but persistent touch with beautiful floral, fragrant plum and tobacco aromas that glide on light round tannins. A pure finish allows the fruit to hang gracefully. This is where balance wins over depth.

The 2008 Rauzan-Segla (62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Merlot) made up 45% of the total. It is a beautiful wine of this vintage, not quite as powerful and structured as the 2010, but with complex aromas of red and black sweet fruit, smokeless cigar smoke, spice box and a touch of wood. The complex fragrance is followed by a deep ruby/plum colored wine with beautiful sweet tannins, smooth, medium to full bodied with a long finish. This excellent Margaux can be drunk for 15 to 20 years.
