A fruity, slightly salty wine with Bruichladdich's signature elegance, the 1984 vintage from the Rare Cask range is a stunning testament to just how unique this wine is.

In 2008, then-distiller Jim McEwan took a classic vintage bag and repackaged it in fresh bourbon for an epic journey.

The cask comes from the last 12 casks from the last distillation in 1984 and was filled with spirits on December 31 of that year. Worldwide limited release, 3,000 bottles

Color – Islay Sunrise.

Aroma – Gorgeous. Classic old school Bruichladdich. Coconut, warm water mousse kawara, vanilla custard, grapefruit, mango, baked ginger cookies, marzipan. Wait a while before removing the date syrup and sultanas.

Taste – Soft and fine texture. Creme brulee, butternut squash and orange zest. Warming the palate gently, it opens to reveal notes of leather, toasted oak and praline. Sweet citrus and mango come later.

Finish – Mild but lovely finish with scones, dried fruit, candied orange, lemon zest and apricot jam.
