product description:
In 1911, the Méry family began to take root in the Grande Champagne region of the Cognac province of France. After three generations of hard work for a century, the family business is booming. With Francois Méry marrying Janis Melrose, Méry-Melrose organic cognac was born.
In 2007, Janis began to transition the family-owned vineyards to organic production. All the vineyards passed the EU EcoCert and the US USDA organic farming law certification in 2011. Prior to this, a large amount of cognac produced by Méry-Melrose was sold in bulk to the cognac giant Rémy Martin, and only a very small part of the cognac was sold locally under its own banner. The aged cognacs collected before obtaining organic certification are used to blend the Méry XO series, which are marketed in France.
François and Janis carefully follow the natural production process, select organically grown high-quality grape berries, use organic fertilizers, and cultivate the land from an environmental point of view. François also faithfully followed the distillation process of his fathers, using copper old-fashioned Charente stills to double-distill the naturally fermented grape wine, so as to present the top terroir connotation of the Grande Champagne region.
Méry Cognac's unique label design is derived from prehistoric art murals found in ancient caves in southwestern France. These murals have an amazing history, dating back as far as 18,000 years ago, and all the works clearly and faithfully reflect the harmonious coexistence of humans and animals at that time. Every drop of Méry-Melrose organic cognac is a tribute to the ancestors, telling the family's long-standing blood story with tenderness, and revealing the endless love for the local natural terroir.
Distilling and blending cognacs, combining tradition and art. The Cognac range was created by fourth-generation cellar master and winemaker François Méry.

Twice distilled, the cognac is aged in new and old French oak barrels combined with the deep artwork of the cellar master.
